Merry Christmas My Friends

Hello my dear friends and Happy Holidays to all of you.

With Christmas just a little more than a day away I wanted to just pop in and share sometime with all of you.  I have been really just taking time to be in the present and have hardly been on social media or on my blog for the past few weeks.  I have to say that it has been really nice.

I’ve had a chance to really spend some quality time with my husband which you all know I truly adore and we both have been taking it a bit easy.

Our morning routine after getting the pugs and frenchie all fed consists of sitting on our sun porch which is all decked out for the holidays with 2 small trees and a couple special holiday sets – one is a skating rink where the people move around on the “ice” and the little village lights up, the other is a little village scene with a Christmas tree and Santa and his reindeer that move and light up.  We sit sip our coffee, chat and just enjoy each others company.  We talk about past Christmases and holidays from our childhood.  We have been chatting about the new year and things we hope to do and trips we hope to take.  This time has been so heartfelt and enjoyable and if you are allotted the chance to take some time to just enjoy life and your loved ones I highly recommend it.

That’s not to say that I haven’t missed all of you and my art, I truly have, but I have needed this time to just be.

I have so many things that I want to do and share with all of you in this up coming year.  I need this time to really hone in on my plans and figure out a real course of action.

I want to give a shout out and HUGE CONGRATS to the winner of the free spot in the BadAss Art Journal Workshop – Janis Graham!  I want to thank everyone that took the time to stop by and leave a comment and enter the giveaway!

This is truly going to be a wonderful workshop – with so many talented artists if you are looking for that one workshop that you can keep going back to this would be it.  You can check out all the details as well as sign up here .

What I have been crushing on lately:  I have always LOVED mood boards, just something about them cause you to feel a certain way.  Each person may feel differently when they see a particular board but the fact that they are created to “invoke a mood” or feeling is just what I love about them.  I have created one here that I wanted too share with all of you as a Holiday Themed mood board.  I have a plan for the New Year using these little bit of inspiration to share something special with all of you.  I hope that this mood board creates a feeling of love, warmth and holiday magic in all of you!

I would Love for all of you to leave a comment letting me know what your first thoughts were upon seeing this mood board.

  1. Sherry – First of all, your morning routine sounds heavenly. When I looked at your mood board, I thought first of the joy of being with family to exchange gifts and share meals. The picture of the ice-coated branches with berries reminded me of the crunching sound my footsteps make when I walk on crusted snow. The trio of photos at the bottom right made me think of being warm and cozy inside.

  2. Hi Sherry, It is especially at times like this, when I wish we lived closer. I know that we would have so much fun and make so many new memories. I think about you all the time sis. I want you to know that I am so proud of you as an artist, I truly LOVE all of your art..and that is rare to say. But more than that I am so proud of the woman you are. You ARE an empowered woman! You have found your inner self and show it in your art. It comes out in an abundance of love, kindness, and beautiful. Because you are beautiful inside and out. You will always be my baby sister but also an intelligent, powerful, strong, beautiful woman! I admire you Sher. I am so happy for you!! I can picture you and Dan sitting in your sunroom with your coffees’, possibly some doughnuts. : ) and your beautifully decorated Christmas theme, just enjoying each other. Your mood board is perfect. I could feel everything so real and present. I could feel you in those photos. I love love the berries and snow. It reminded me of something past. I can’t put my finger on it. But it felt like home. The candy cane mug with the cookies and marsh mellows, makes me think how Mom used to make hot cocoa for us to have after we cut down the tree with Dad. The pine cones and candles, I could almost smell them. I pray that you,Dan, and Elias, have a very blessed Christmas tomorrow! I wish I could give you all big hugs. But a cyber hug for now. Always thinking of you~
