Holiday tags and Paper ornaments with StencilGirl’s Snow Storm Stencil

Hi creative friends, crafting this time of year is so much fun I almost have too many ideas that I want to create and definitely not enough time to get everything created. One thing I love to do for the holidays is make special gift tags that can also be used as ornaments on the tree. I have a hard time getting cards done if I create them all hand made so i focus on the gift tags which I can create a bunch at a time. So today I have decided to use this beautiful Stencil called Snow Storm found at

I started out by creating a background on a sheet of mixed media paper with my brayer and some matte acrylic paints from Blick Arts. This is a tutorial I saw on PaperArtsy.

It’s quite simple take 2 or more colors that go together and use your brayer to layer them. Don’t cover the whole sheet with one color just keep adding with the colors you picked to get a nice layered look with lots of depth.

The matte colors I think work best bc they really give it a nice vintage look. But use what you have, Experiment, have fun that’s what art is all about !! 😊

Once you are happy with your back ground lay your Stencil down and go in with a darker or lighter color that will pop when you Stencil. Here I choose Violet Deep and just sponge on with the sponge of your choice.

Here is how this sheet came out, I love it ❤️

On this sheet I choose a Magenta with some dabbing of thenoff white over the top of it.

For the next sheet I took a plain white mixed media paper put my Stencil down and took a baby wipe and just used all the paint that had collected on my stencil to create this next sheet. It’s amazing how beautiful this turned out and I didn’t use any fresh paint

Next cut up your sheets in the sizes of tags that you want or use punches / die cuts whatever you love.  I did some in shapes of tags and some with a round scalloped punch in 2 different – layering sizes.

Now comes the fun and the sky’s the limit to embellishing these babies. Here I added more layers in a complimentary color with the same stencil.

I added some snowflakes using the texture paste then painted them once they were dry with paints and inka gold in a turquoise.

I used some liquid pearls to accent the snow flakes.

These are Holiday tags so break out that glitter. I used my stickles but I put some on my palette and brush it on

I added some stamping to most of them with some hold embossing powder and again accented with the liquid pearls.

Let them dry and add some pretty ribbons to the tops and you are good to go. The round ones I love to use for ornaments the layered ones I used pop dots to raise them. But if you don’t have those you can use a folded piece of felt or a piece of bubble wrap. Anything to raise it works.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I am back on Jessica Sporn Designs blog tomorrow for my newest Creative Team blog post son be sure to stop by and check it out Here. Also next week we have an awesome blog hop going on so be sure to subscribe to her blog so you don’t miss all the awesomeness.

Have an amazing day friends ❤️❤️❤️

The holiday season has started

Hi Friends it has been awhile since my last post. It becoming a challenging around the holidays to keep up on my blog posts as well as FB, IG and twitter. Sometimes I feel like I need 3 of me lol. I’m sure that I’m not alone in that feeling.

So for those of you who don’t follow my other sites this will be a little bit of a catchup on what I’ve been up to. Let’s see I have been practicing drawing and painting faces. Particularly girls more ina whimsical style. Here is one that I have in progress.

I did some art journaling before the Thanksgiving holiday using some of my StencilGirl stencils.

Here is another page I created in my art journal incorporating some more practice in drawing my girls. I used this months StencilGirl Club stencils that are by Jessica Sporn. I just love the stencils !

And then the holiday was here. We were blessed to have my mom with us this year. Below is a picture of her with my son.

And then a pic of the 4 of us.

After all the craziness of the day I was able to take some time and relax in my art studio and do a bit of creating in my art journal. Again I used some of this months StencilClub Stencils as well as one of the Jessica Sporn Designs stencils I already had.

I took this paper star I had in my stash and created a Christmas ornament out of it. It was super simple. I first painted it with white gesso. Dried it then sprayed it with a translucent paint called Tint-it. Then I searched through my stash for some snowflakes son various sizes. Glued  each one on with my hot glue gun and then punched a hole in the top added some glittery ribbon and it was finished.

I love how it turned out and it was so easy to make. The best part is I used what I had and didn’t have to go out and buy anything. I would love to hear what everyone’s favorite holiday tradition is out there. If you have time to share with me I would love to hear from you. Keep a watch out as Jessica Sporn Designs is having a blog hop coming up. And I am also a part of this months StencilGirl Voices. So there will be some fun tutorials coming your way. Happy Monday Friends. ❤️❤️❤️

Whimsical Peacock Holiday Tags

Hi Friends hope everyone is doing well this wonderful Monday evening. You all know I love tags. Art tags are just super fun to make, they are quick and easy and just make me smile. So I’ve been looking at my wonderful stash of stamps and stencils and one stamp that keeps calling to me is the peacock stamp my Jessica Sporn. You can find it at I know that each year when I’m shopping or out and about I see at least one Peacock decorated tree. So I thought how about Peacock gift tags.

I started with several white tags that I ordered from I love them because one side is matte and the other is more of a glossy finish.

Then I took my acrylic paints in vivid lime green, dark violet and medium magenta and with a cosmetic sponge painted one side of each tag.

Then I took my Peacock stamp with my embossing ink and stamped each tag with a Peacock

And embossed each one with turquoise blue embossing powder

When that was finished I stenciled a sentiment on each with the 3 trees stencil also by Jessica Sporn and that can be found at

Now comes the really fun part we get to embellish them. Add some stickles or liquid pearls and Some bling or ribbon at the bottom.

Add some flowers and more bling. I feel when it comes to the holidays it is totally acceptable to go over board with the bling and glitter lol

Add your ribbons to the top and they are all set to be attached to a gift, given as a gift to be used as a bookmark , or even hung on a tree.

Here are the final results

Wishing everyone a fabulous evening filled with lots of love and peace. ❤️❤️❤️
