Art tag for prompt “Nest”

Hi everyone I’m playing a little catch up with the prompts from the Instagram group I am a part of called Sisters with heart in art. For the NEST prompt I created this art tag using Stencil Girl Stencils and some stamps by Dina Wakley.

I started with a plain Tag and used some distress inks:  peacock feathers and wilted violet and a distress stain:  salty ocean. I dried it then spritzed with water then dabbed with a cloth.

Super cool look and so easy to do.

Then I used MaryBeth Shaw’s 6×6 trees stencil with come Golden fluid paint in Van Dyke Brown Hue

The next stencil I used is by Daniella Woolf L135

I used an olive green hue acrylic paint with this stencil then shifted it just a bit and used a bright yellow green over the top to give the laces some dimension

Then I cut a nest shape from a sheet I had in my stash of gelli prints and used 2 of this months Club stencils from StencilGirl to create my “nest”. I just kept layering and moving the stencils around using my brown , Titan buff and Nickle Azo Gold until I thought it looked like a nest (all Golden fluid acrylic paints)

Then I stamped and painted my scribley bird and used some pop dots to adhere both the nest and bird to my tag to give it a little more dimension and then stamped the sentiment at the top with black archival ink

Art journal page in progress

So I started out with one stencil and some fun Dylusions sprays and came out with this

So then I used one of this months stencils from Stencil Girl Club to add the blue paint marks you see in the photo below. I layered the stencils to get this look.

Above you can see how I layered one stencil I’ve the other.

This was the final result

And even though I liked it it wasn’t what I wanted as my final result so I covered the entire page with magenta acrylic paint and scraped most of it off. Then I continued to layer stencils from this awesome club stencil created by MaryBeth Shaw

And here is my final results so far. Not sure I’m done I may add some more layers but I already love what it’s morphed into with all the layering

Hope everyone gets some time to be creative today Happy Monday ❤️❤️❤️
