Good afternoon everyone. I woke up this morning to a blustery snow storm. Not what I expected for an early day in April when we have been having some 60s and we are expecting another hit tonight of 3-6 inches of snow so wherever you are stay safe and warm. So on this cold day what better thing to do than play in my art studio.
Some of you who know me know I’m a big Yoga nut and a huge advocate for the benefits yoga has both on your body and your mind.
Jessica Sporn has some of the most amazing yoga stencils. And I started my project with one of her new stencils called lacy lotus repeat
I felt it a bit too “lined” so I added some white paint over the whole page and scraped it off with a piece of cardboard
So I took the next stencil called Namaste. I wanted to know what exactly that meant so I looked it up and well, felt it so fitting to use on my page today. Here is the meaning I found:
The gesture Namaste represents the belief that there is a Divine spark within each of us that is located in the heart chakra. The gesture is an acknowledgment of the soul in one by the soul in another. “Nama” means bow, “as” means I, and “te” means you. Therefore, Namaste literally means “bow me you” or “I bow to you.”
I applied black paint using the top of the stencil (that reminds me of a mandala) and just did half at the top and half at the bottom and then shifted the stencil just a bit and applied white paint over the top. I went back in with a white gel pen over the words to get them to stand out a bit more and used a pink paint and stenciled the hands.
Used some black paint to outline the page. And here is the completed page. To all of my friends and followers Namaste. I know each one of you has an amazing spark so let it shine and spread that spark of happiness and love wherever you go ❤️❤️❤️
